About Kimberly Burke

Kimberly Burke called the Shenandoah Valley of Virginia home until moving this spring, trading horse country for the beach and music city. She now splits time between the Florida panhandle in the area known as 30A and Nashville TN. “It was hard to leave the horse farm, friends and loyal music followers in Virginia but it was time for a change, and Nashville and the beach were calling!” She still has one horse at a local barn near her home but that is a big change from living and working on a farm. “I was trying to make it all work and it was too much. I needed to be in Nashville more to perform, write and record, and there is a fantastic music and songwriter scene in that part of Florida that was too tempting to pass up. Combine that with getting to live near the ocean and it was an obvious choice.”

Kimberly Burke grew up in a house of music lovers with both parents playing instruments and performing in community bands. “I never remember wanting to do anything other than play music and ride horses and I’ve been lucky enough to pursue both of those passions professionally and turn them into careers”

Kimberly studied music in college graduating with a degree in voice performance. The fact that she is classically trained vocalist becomes clear in the versatility, range and power that she possesses as a singer. Kimberly grew up listening to a multi genre  mix of blues, rock, bluegrass, jazz, funk, and country. She has been in bands and duos in all of those genres. As a songwriter she loves songs that tell a story and have a soul. A few of her songwriting influences and heroes include John Prine, Joni Mitchell, Dolly Parton, Willie Nelson, Bill Withers, Tom Petty, Stevie Wonder, Neil Young and Stevie Nicks.

Kimberly’s most recent Album Flight Risk including the single “No Better Love” recorded at Studio 19 in Nashville is out on all platforms.

Recently she has starting working on a new album at Blackbird Studio in Nashville. Information on the first single and its release date will be coming soon.
